Together this fall, we as a community of faith have been discussing how God might be calling us to participate in a mission narrative both in the nearby and far reaches of His Kingdom. The call to First Baptist Kingsville(FBK) and the legacy of response to that call is the basis of this Mission’s Blog Post.
The Bible has a lot to say about the difference between a benefit that is only temporary and one that lasts forever. When each of us came into this world, the fact of the matter is that we brought nothing into it, and it is certain that we can take nothing out with us – nothing material, that is. When we stand face to face before Jesus, like we discussed last week, the size of the bank account that our relatives are fighting over won’t make a bit of difference to him. What will make a difference is our righteous character – remember the righteous have a place prepared for them.

God Planned for you…. are you planning for God???
There is a fearsome finality to Jesus’ judgment. There are no second chances during the second coming. Those who had time to make wise decisions for themselves about the course of their lives will at the final judgment have a final decision about their final fate “made for them” with the utmost finality.

Our God has chosen to be our God – He has called us to be His sheep as He is our Shepherd.
He provides for us, in every way imaginable: physically, spiritually, emotionally.
He showers His blessings upon us, he covers us with His mercy & grace both in our lives today and in the eternal future.
So, thank Him – praise Him – exalt Him – give Him the glory He is due.
There’s no more appropriate day to do this, than on Thanksgiving.

What does God expect of you – God is asking you and me – for everything. And everything means that we are not only Jesus followers here on Sunday or in the private parts of our life. What He invites us to and requires of us is a total life commitment. To get out of our comfort zones. Just like he called Paul on the road to Damascus, just like he called Jonah, Matthew or Richard Stearns, Jesus calls us to be His partners in changing our world.
