Psalms – The Journey to Easter: Part 1 – Sermon – Pastor Marlee Page
As we prepare for Easter, and Church family, we should, each of us, be intentional about preparing our Hearts for the Easter Season, we would encourage you to reflect upon and then to acknowledge the places in our own lives where we need deliverance. This is a very special time, one that we can use confess our sins and shortcomings before God, knowing that He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Psalms – Unity in the Presence of God – Sermon – Pastor Dave Page
Embracing a Lifestyle of Worship: That spirit of trust, as it grows within us helps us to then recognize that Worship is not merely an event but a way of life – a continual outpouring of gratitude and praise to the God who sustains us. So, embrace a lifestyle of worship! Embrace a daily surrender of your heart to the One who is worthy of all praise.
CommUNITY – Sermon – Laura Gaffan
Children’s questions about God’s love and His purpose highlight the mysteries of our faith. Jesus’s prayer in John 17 reveals the deep unity He desires for His followers. This unity should be the hallmark of the church because our foundation is Jesus Christ alone. We may all have different gifts and roles within the church, but we unite as one body to fulfill our mission – sharing the good news of Jesus with the world. When we live in unity, the world will know that God sent Jesus and loves us all.
A Lifelong Race – Sermon – Guest Speaker Courtney Verhelst
Find hope and perseverance in faith. This sermon offers biblical guidance and practical steps to overcome sadness and run life’s race with joy.
From Disorientation to Reorientation: The Journey of Psalm 30 – Sermon – Pastors Marlee and Dave Page
Yet, in the midst of despair, there is hope. For our God is a God of redemption and restoration. He does not leave us in our sorrow but reaches out with His tender mercy and grace to lift us up from the pit of despair. He turns our mourning into dancing, our wailing into songs of joy. He replaces our sackcloth with garments of praise.
Psalms – Finding Hope in Disorientation – Sermon – Pastor Marlee
Ultimately, our journey through disorientation requires surrendering to God’s will and submitting our lives to His guidance. Jesus Himself exemplified this surrender in the Garden of Gethsemane, praying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done” (Luke 22:42). When we relinquish control and trust in God’s perfect plan, we find peace amidst the storm.
Ancient Wisdom For A Modern Life – Psalm 2 – Sermon – Pastor Dave Page
What this Psalm shows us today, is the Absolute Truth that the Lord God created a moral universe with absolutes ultimately, and this is an inescapable fact of reality.
You can’t find true peace and safety anywhere in the world, only in Jesus does that truly come.
Psalms – Ancient Wisdom for Modern Life – Sermon – Pastor Dave Page
Since Jesus has come, is the Old Testament even relevant ? What difference does the coming of Jesus Christ make to the meaning of a psalm? – That’s a great question and a really big challenge too.
The psalms were written before Christ came. But now he has come. The Incarnation has happened, the Lord has lived a flawless human life, he has died his atoning death to pay the penalty for sinners, he has been raised in his body and ascended to the Father’s right hand on high. This makes a huge difference, right?? Well, yes, actually it makes a massive difference.
The Next 200 Years – Part 2 Core Values – Sermon – Pastor Dave Page
Core Values determine who and what we will be as a church. No two churches are alike. Some churches focus on biblical preaching and teaching, others on evangelism, and still others on counselling or the family. Different churches reach different people. What shapes us into who we are at FBK is our core values.
The Next 200 Years – Sermon – Pastors Marlee and Dave Page
FBK, our Mission (now and for the next 200 years and beyond) is a simple statement, with the potential to change many lives, ours and those we encounter along the way.
Jesus said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” His desire is that all should come.
Names of Jesus – My Messiah Came for Me – Sermon – Pastor Marlee Page
Here’s a harsh truth for us to accept church, when you minister to others you may well meet with unkindness and ungratefulness….and if your motivation for this selfless service is love for others, you will become exhausted in the battle of life and you will be tempted to throw in the towel. But…. if the motivation of your service is love for God, then no ingratitude, no sin, no person, no devil, will keep you from serving your neighbour, no matter how they treat you.
The Names of Jesus – Prince of Peace – Sermon – Pastor Dave Page
This peace passes all understanding; it is of a very different nature because it is a peace which God dispenses; it’s a mystery – felt by all that call Jesus Lord, but can be explained by none; it is intimate relationship with the Father, and his Son Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. And so here’s what that means for you….this peace that is different than the world gives.
