2 Peter 1 shows that every step of discipleship—faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, and godliness—ultimately blossoms into mutual affection and, finally, agape love. Affection roots us in family-like care; agape chooses costly, Christ-shaped sacrifice that reveals Jesus to the world. Today’s message invites us to practice love where it feels hardest and to keep taking the next faithful step, trusting that as we grow we will reflect the Savior’s heart and offer a witness that brings life to our homes, churches, and communities.
