Call to Worship
This has been an exciting week around our church. Our building has been filled with laughter, music, games, crafts, friendships, and most importantly, conversations about who God is.
Children, Jr. Leaders and Adults all spent the week exploring God’s incredible creation and discovering that no matter what life brings, God is faithful. Those aren’t just lessons for children; they’re truths every one of us needs to hear.
Thank you to every volunteer who gave your time, your energy, your creativity, and your love this week. Thank you to the families who entrusted your children to us. Your partnership in sharing the love of Jesus is a tremendous blessing.
As we worship this morning, let’s remember that we’re not simply celebrating a successful week of VBS. We’re celebrating a faithful God who continues to call people of every age to know Him more deeply.
Let’s prepare our hearts as we come before Him together.

Prayer
Confession:
Gracious and loving God, You are our Creator, and everything we have comes from Your generous hand. You are our Protector, yet too often we look elsewhere for our security. You are always with us, yet we confess that we often live as though we are on our own. Forgive us for the times we have trusted in our own strength more than Your faithfulness. Forgive us for allowing worry to overshadow worship, fear to replace faith, and busyness to crowd out time in Your presence.
You know us completely. Nothing is hidden from You, not our actions, not our thoughts, not even the burdens we carry deep within our hearts. Yet even knowing us fully, You continue to love us completely. Lord, we confess that we have not always reflected Your love to those around us. We have been impatient when You call us to compassion. We have been quick to judge instead of quick to listen. We have taken Your blessings for granted instead of responding with grateful hearts.
Today we come honestly before You, not pretending to have everything together, but trusting in Your mercy. Create in us clean hearts, O God. Renew a steadfast spirit within us. Plant our lives deeply in Your grace, so that we may grow into people who reflect Your goodness in every season. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Words of Assurance:
The God who created us is also the God who redeems us. Psalm 103 tells us:
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love… As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
And throughout Psalm 136 we are reminded again and again: “His steadfast love endures forever.” If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven, our relationship with God is restored, and we are invited to live as His beloved children. Thanks be to God! Amen.

Today's Message: Finding Our Safe Place in the Nature of God
A rainforest is one of the richest ecosystems on earth. Towering trees survive violent storms because their roots are intertwined, drawing constant nourishment from the ground beneath them. They don’t stand because they’re stronger than the wind. They stand because they’re connected to a source of life. The Bible says our lives are meant to be the same. God doesn’t promise a storm-free life. He promises to be our refuge in every storm.

Day One: God Is Our Creator
Psalm 103:22 “Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the Lord, my soul.”
The Bible begins with a simple but life-changing truth: God made everything. The stars and waterfalls. The trees. The birds. And you. Our culture often tells us our worth comes from what we accomplish, how much we own, or what others think of us. Scripture says something entirely different. Your value begins with your Creator. You were intentionally made by God. You bear His image. You are known before you are noticed. When we recognize God as Creator, worship becomes the most natural response. Creation isn’t simply beautiful, it’s constantly pointing us back to the One who made it.
Day Two: God Is Our Protector
Psalm 91 “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
One of the most comforting pictures in Scripture is found in this psalm. Every child knows what it’s like to look for a safe place. Every adult does too. Sometimes our “safe places” become money or success. Sometimes relationships or control. Yet every one of those can disappear. Psalm 91 reminds us that God Himself is our refuge. Not merely a provider of safety. The place of safety. Trust grows when we stop asking, “Can I control this?” and begin asking, “Can I trust the One who holds this?”
Day Three: God Is Always With Us
Psalm 139 “Where can I go from your Spirit?”
The answer is simple, nowhere. Whether David imagines climbing into heaven, crossing the sea, or sitting in darkness, God is already there. That changes how we face ordinary Mondays. God is already in the classroom. Already in the hospital room. Already in the board meeting. Already walking with us through grief. Already celebrating with us in joy. His presence isn’t earned. It’s promised. Sometimes the greatest miracle isn’t that God changes our circumstances. It’s that He refuses to leave us in them.
Day Four: God Loves Us Completely
Psalm 136 “His faithful love endures forever.”
This Psalm repeats one phrase over and over. The repetition is intentional. Because we forget. We remember our failures more easily than God’s faithfulness. We remember yesterday’s disappointment more readily than His promises. Yet every verse calls us back. God’s love endures.
When life is easy – His love endures.
When life is confusing – His love endures.
When we’ve wandered – His love endures.
His covenant love isn’t based on our consistency, It’s rooted in His character.
Day Five: God Is Worth Praising
Psalm 150 “Praise the Lord!”
The Book of Psalms ends exactly where our lives are meant to end: Not because every problem has disappeared, but because God remains worthy. Praise becomes an act of trust. It declares that God is greater than today’s circumstances. Becoming Rooted. The rainforest doesn’t grow overnight. Neither does faith. Roots grow quietly. Prayer, scripture, worship, serving others, trusting God one day at a time. These ordinary habits become extraordinary over time because they connect us to the God who never changes. When the winds come, and they will, we discover our hope was never rooted in our own strength. It was rooted in God’s faithfulness.
As the psalmist reminds us:
“Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the Lord, my soul.” (Psalm 103:22)
May we become people whose lives are deeply rooted in the Creator, protected by His presence, surrounded by His love, and overflowing with praise. Because when our roots are planted in God, every season becomes an opportunity to discover more of who He is.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, this week, we are reminded that You are a God who delights in bringing generations together. We thank You for the laughter, energy, and excitement of this past week of Vacation Bible School. Thank You for every child who walked through our doors, every family that trusted us with their children, every volunteer who gave generously of their time, every leader, every teacher, every youth helper, every kitchen volunteer, every decorator, every prayer partner, and every person who quietly served behind the scenes. We know that none of this happened by accident, it was all an opportunity to make Your love known.
Lord, we pray that the seeds planted this week would take root. Long after the decorations have come down and the songs have faded, may Your Word continue to grow in the hearts of every child. Give parents and grandparents wisdom to nurture that faith at home and help us as a church family to continue encouraging the next generation to know and follow Jesus.
Father, as we have reflected on the Psalms this morning, we are reminded of who You are. You are our Creator, and we praise You for the beauty of this world and for the gift of life itself. Thank You for creating each one of us intentionally and lovingly, with purpose and value.
You are our Protector. For those among us today who are carrying heavy burdens, surround them with Your peace. For those facing illness, bring healing. For those waiting for test results or medical appointments, grant patience and hope. For those who are grieving the loss of loved ones, draw near and comfort them with Your presence.
You are always with us. Thank You that there is nowhere we can go where You are not already present. Be especially near to those who feel lonely, discouraged, anxious, or overwhelmed. Remind them that they are never forgotten and never abandoned.
You are a God whose steadfast love endures forever. Thank You for Your grace that meets us every morning. Thank You for forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Thank You that Your love is not based on our performance but on Your unchanging character.
Lord, we pray for our church. Continue to shape us into a community whose roots are planted deeply in You. Help us not simply to gather on Sundays but to grow throughout the week as disciples who worship, serve, pray, and share the hope we have found in Christ.
We pray for our community of Kingsville and the surrounding area. Bless our schools, first responders, healthcare workers, local businesses, farmers, and community leaders. Grant them wisdom, integrity, and strength in their work. May our church be a faithful witness to the hope of the Gospel in every place You have planted us.
We remember our trusted mission partners and ministry partners serving both near and far. Strengthen them as they proclaim Christ in different communities and cultures. May they know that they are supported by our prayers and encouraged by Your Spirit.
Father, we also pray for those who have joined us today because of Vacation Bible School. Whether this is their first visit or they have been here many times before, may they experience not simply the warmth of this congregation but the welcome of Christ Himself. Continue drawing families into a deeper relationship with You.
Help us not merely to admire the beauty of Your creation, but to know the Creator. Help us not merely to hear Your promises, but to trust them. May our lives become like trees planted beside streams of living water, deeply rooted in Christ, bearing fruit for Your glory in every season. We ask all of this in the strong and gracious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, Amen.

As we leave this place today, remember what our children have been learning all week:
God is your Creator.
God is your Protector.
God is always with you.God’s love endures forever and God is always worthy of your praise. So go into this new week with your roots planted deeply in Christ. “The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” ~ Psalm 121:8
